Wiggle

Privacy

Prelaunch draft. The operator, effective date and verified contact details will be confirmed before public launch.

Privacy, at a glance.

Your location, your choice.

A wiggle shares your current location only when you enable location sharing for that wiggle and allow access on your phone.

Conversations fade.

After ten minutes without a new message, image, voice note or poll, the conversation ends. Messages remain readable by their participants on the server for one hour from sending; downloaded copies can remain on their phones.

Pins stay on your phone.

Saved pins are local copies, including downloaded attachments. They can remain after a conversation ends and are not a cloud backup.

Your profile, your circle.

Friends can see your name, username and profile picture. Your birthdate is not part of your public friend profile.

1. Information used by the app

Wiggle uses account and sign-in information to identify you and keep your session secure. This can include your name, username, email address, birthdate, chosen profile picture and identifiers returned by your sign-in provider.

It also uses the groups you create or join, accepted invitations, wiggle settings, and conversation content you choose to send: messages, photos, voice notes, reactions, polls, votes and location snapshots. Device notification tokens and delivery information support alerts.

2. Why information is used

Information is used to sign you in, display your profile, manage your groups and invitations, deliver wiggles and conversations to their participants, process attachments, and maintain permissions, cooldowns and service security.

The interactive examples on this website do not send messages, record audio, upload photos or request your location. The hosting and sign-in providers may process traffic, account and session information under their own policies.

3. Who can see what you share

Conversation content is available to the participants in that conversation. Joining a group requires accepting an invitation; a website invitation preview displays the group’s name, icon and description, rather than its member list or private chat.

Sign-in, hosting, storage and notification services process the information needed for their role. Apple and Google may process sign-in and notification data under their own privacy terms. The final launch policy will identify the operator and production service providers.

The current beta does not implement end-to-end encryption. The service processes content to deliver it to the intended participants.

4. Location, photos and microphone access

You control the phone permissions used for location, photos, camera and microphone features. Changing a permission in your phone’s settings affects future access; it does not retract information already shared.

A location sent with a wiggle is a fixed snapshot, not continuous live tracking. Only share a location or someone’s image when you are comfortable with the conversation’s participants seeing it.

5. Conversation expiry and local pins

A conversation’s ten-minute activity window restarts after an accepted new text message, image, voice note or poll. Reading, reacting, voting or pinning does not extend the window. When the activity window ends, no new messages can be sent in that run. Each message remains readable on the server for one hour from sending. After that, server reads stop and cleanup removes its content and attachments; physical deletion can take additional time.

Pinning does not extend server retention. A phone that saved a pin before expiry may keep its local copy across conversations. Other participants may also save copies or take screenshots. Removing content from the service cannot erase copies already kept on another device.

Phones can retain downloaded history for up to 50 ended conversations per wiggle, with saved pins kept separately until removed. Shared summaries remain on the server for one week and may remain in downloaded history. Account, security and delivery information follow separate retention needs. Production retention periods and provider deletion arrangements will be stated in the final launch policy.

6. Your choices

You can update your profile, manage permissions, choose whether a wiggle shares your location, and remove your own content while the conversation is active. You can remove historical pins saved on your own phone. Logging out does not delete your account or other people’s saved copies.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain uses. A verified privacy contact and request process will be added before launch.

7. Questions and changes

The operator’s identity, privacy contact and effective date are pending. Updated policies will be linked from this website and the app before the public launch.
